Is khamosh si tanhayi mein, ho gaye hain hum bhi gum sum,
Ab to woh lafz bhi nahi milte, jinse khud ko bahlate the hum,
Apne saath le gaye ho humara har sukoon, kya isi kashmakash mein jalte rahenge ab,
Ankhein band karte hi nazar aata hai wohi chehra, jabki yeh ehsaas hai humein ki humaare kareeb nahi ho tum,
Sochtein hain ki apne har ehsaas ko mita de, ab nahi bardasht hota humse yeh sitam,
Is khamosh si tanhayi mein, ho gaye hai hum bhi gum sum..............

Na dekha hai tumhe,
Na suna hai, na hi mehsus kiya hai,
Phir bhi yeh ilm hai humein,
Ki tumhi se humara saara jahaan hai.

In aankhon mein kya chahte hai hum,
Sirf tumhara chehra,
Is naseeb mein kya maangte hai hum,
Sirf humare dil par tumhara pehra.

Us din aapse nazarein mili, to humne poocha tha khud se yeh sawaal,
Ki yeh kya hua hai humein, kyon dil ho raha hai itna bekraar.
Kya ise pyaar kahein, ya sirf ek pyaara sa ehsaas,
Bahut baar dil se poocha, phir bhi nahi mila humein koi jawaab.
Kuch lamhe aise aaye, ki bechaini hadh se guzar gayi,
Socha aapko zaahir karein man ki yeh fariyaad, par dil ki baat lafzon mein nahi daali gayi.
Umeed is dil mein jaagi rahi, lekin waqt ki aagosh mein aakar raat ki tarah dhalne lagi,
Humein aisa laga wo ehsaas humare mehsoos karne ka nahi.
Raat ke dhalte hi, suraj ki kirno ki tarah wo umeed phir se jaagi....
Is baar dil se poocha na humne koi sawaal, dil ne khud hi bayaan kar diya apna haal!

Shayari....the creative way of expressing yourself....that is what comes to my mind everytime I hear shers. My obsession with indian music started at a young age. In the beginning, it was always the beats that attracted me, but gradually I started paying attention to the lyrics as well. The artistic talents of the lyricists impressed me immensely. After years of listening to beautiful songs and reading the great works of different Shayars, I decided to try my hand at Shayari.

The very first thing I wanted to do was to create a mood that I felt was an essential element of the writing process. I dimmed the lights, lit the candles, got my best stationery out and decided to give it my best shot. The change in the atmosphere didn't help, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to write about. I just could not get any words on the paper. I sat there pondering about what else I needed to do. It finally hit me that I was stressing myself out and would never be able to write like this. I played my favourite ghazal ( Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar - by Jagjit Singh) and relaxed. Then I started writing. Once I had the first line down, I was able to continue. Writing everyday was not an option for me because I was busy with school, but I did write whenever I got the chance. This is how my journey into the shayari world started.

I continued to write for a few years and then stopped. I enjoyed it, but had never given much importance to it. I was even skeptical about sharing it, so not many people knew about my shers. After I got engaged, I wrote a poem (in a sher form) for my husband (fiancee at the time). He loved it a lot and encouraged me to continue. That brought me back into the beautiful world of Shayars and Shayaris....
